Music Genome Project

My genre was Calypso/Island Music. The genome project required you to work with iMovie. I had only ever worked with iMovie once before but I still did not know how everything worked. It was sort of a challenge at times when I did not know how to get something to work the way I pictured in my head. I started off by collecting all of my information about the history of Calypso and where it started and what it became. I gathered many pictures to put in also and I got many songs that I could use in my project. I then got all my music into GarageBand and put it all together in there first. I know how to use GarageBand and I was more comfy using that first. I did have some trouble at some times when my desired music was not compatible with it but it was alright. After that I transferred my music over to iMovie and then I added my pictures and video. I learned so much with this project. I learned how to use iMovie and how cool it can be. I will definitely use this application much more as I go on now. Although it was difficult at times, I think my project turned out great!

French I Storyboard

I am currently in a group that has ben working on a storyboard  all about French I. We gathered many questions to ask and we gathered quotes and pictures to support our presentation. We interviewed the French I teacher, Mrs. Rodolfi, and one of the counselors here at school. We got a lot of information and out it all together in a iMovie. We are finished now, and the movie turned out great! we added sound and it all flows really well together. My group that I am in is a great group. We not only get down to business, but we also have fun and get together really well. I think there is a good balance of different people with different skills and ideas in my group. Great job guys!

First Podcast

I have created my first podcast! It was very cool. I enjoyed learning about GarageBand and thought it was so neat how you can put together a little movie by adding music, pictures, and narration. I did mine on the movie Despicable Me. I had so much fun gathering the information about the movie and finding many different pictures to go along with my script. GarageBand has shown me a new way to create a unique, creative project. I really got into all the music and timing. I also thought that it was very cool how you can change the tone and volume of a sound. I put in 5 different songs and I found it very helpful that i could fade them in and out so they do not sound so chopped up. I really enjoy GarageBand and will definitely put it to good use.

Story Board Project

Recently we have been working on a story board project. We got into groups and each have a different topic to cover. Our audience will be the incoming freshman for next year. We are telling them about all of the subjects, clubs, sports, and other activities you can enjoy while here at Notre Dame. My group has French I. I was in charge of getting the quotes and the pictures for he project. We are going to also get a video of interviewing he French I teacher, which is Mrs. Rodolfi. Getting everything together is just the making of the outline. Next we are going to continue adding different effects and applications and it will create a very cool slideshow! Learning about this is very helpful to know for use later in life.

iPhoto

Today I am working on a project using iPhoto. I am putting letters that are made of different objects and making them spell out my name. It is very neat how you can just out your pictures into iPhoto and create a slideshow with music. It is so simple and easy! I so far have my name and some music but I still need to add a couple of my personal pictures to it. I am not sure what I should put in there. But anyway, I never knew how to use iPhoto before and I have concluded that it is a very cool, easy, fun way to get a great outcome!

Mail Merging!

So today I learned how to take an Excel spreadsheet and mail merge it to create letters! It was very exciting. My organization that I was for was the National MS Society. I had a little bit of trouble in the beginning but Carlos helped me with that (thanks Carlos!) I thought it was very cool how by using an Excel spreadsheet you could create multiple letters but just using mail merging. I will definitely put that to use later in time. Well that is about it for now, but if you do not know how to mail merge I highly suggest figuring it out(:

M&M Comparisions

Today I worked with M&Ms! I learned how to use Excel and chart and graph things with formulas. Working with Excel was a good experience, showing me another way I can gather information. I sorted all of my M&Ms and got the totals and averages of the different colors. This was a fun project. We also got to look at other people's M&Ms and compared them to our own! The best part was at the end we got to eat our candy(: Today was a good day!
